Andreas Conrad is a well known guest on international stages. The year 2011 began with an highly acclaimed debut as Herod (Salome) at the Opera de Monte Carlo. With this role he was shortly afterwards in Berlin to hear. After very successful performances in 2010, Andreas Conrad returned to the Salzburg Festival with the part of the crookback in "Frau ohne Schatten” (Richard Strauss), in summer 2011. In December 2011 and January 2012 he performed the Part of Edmund in Aribert Reimanns Oper "Lear" at the Komische Oper Berlin..During the last few years Andreas Conrd gave (amongst others) his debut at the Metropolitan Opera House New York and at the Washington National Opera. In the same year he was very successful with his interpretation of „Aron“ (Schoenberg: MOSES & ARON) in Willy Deckers first production as artistic director of the RuhrTriennale in Bochum. This, as well as other national and international performances were recorded or transmitted live in radio or television. ( f. e. in May 2010 a concertante performance of ravels „Spanish Hour“ at the Berlin Philharmony (RSO Berlin / Salemcour). From the beginning of his career, Andreas Conrad was invited by international high ranged stages in europe and the USA. He was working with well known conductors, for instance Seji Ozawa, Kurt Masur, Claudio Abbado, Sir Collin Davis, Hartmut Haenchen, Simone Young, Yakov Kreizberg, Kirill Petrenko, Ralf Weikert, Pierre Boulez and Placido Domingo. Togehther with Domingo he was also acting on stage at The “Wiener Klangbogen 2004 in the production of Carlo Menottis Opera “Goya”. Patrice Chéreau and many other international directors, for instance Willy Decker, Christoph Loy, Hans Neuenfels, Richard Jones und Harry Kupfer, appreciate his charisma and the expressiveness of his voice. Andreas Conrads repertory comprises by now more than 50 roles, and it contains Mozart as well as Mussorgski, Janacek or Wagner. His repertory further comprises roles by Strauss, Berg, Britten and other contemporaray Composers. Andreas Conrad was born in Magdeburg. He studied singing at the conservatory “Carl Maria von Weber” in Dresden. His teacher was Marianne Fischer – Kupfer. After a 3 years engagement at the Opera Studio of the Staatsoper Dresden he became engaged by the Komische Oper Berlin. In this Opera House – to which he belonged until Season 2006/7 - he interpreted all important roles out of the playing and character repertory. In 1998 Andreas Conrad was awarded with the title “Berliner Kammersänger”.

Future Plans:

Amongst others are planned regular guest appearances with main roles at the Paris National Opera: F. e. Truffaldino (The Love for Three Oranges) and The Witch (Hansel and Gretel). In Geneve Andreas Conrad will sing 2013 the parts of Mime in “The Rhine Gold” and in “Siegfried” in a new production of Wagner’s "Ring". In 2012/2013 Andreas Conrad will perform the part of Mime in “The Rhine Gold” in a concertante performance and CD Production of Wager’s „Ring“ with the RSO Berlin under the baton of Marek Janowski in the Berlin Philharmony.
